Wherever in the world a Tissot watch is purchased, it has a two-year guarantee valid with any Tissot official dealer worldwide. Local customer service personnel are regularly updated on new products at the Tissot training centre in Switzerland to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction. Completing this picture of excellence is a stringent, comprehensive testing process for every Tissot watch.
High Technology optical measurement testing guarantees the geometrical accuracy of each timepiece by automatically measuring the cases and comparing the actual dimensions with those of the technical drawing.
This non-destructive testing method allows the precise control of alloy compositions, as well as of the relative thickness of metallic coatings and deposition films (PVD, titanium or 18 carat gold etc).
This tests the bracelet by simulating movements. A bracelet must resist to 10’000 oscillating movements without rupture and the pins must retain a minimum of 15N of fastness.
Here the resistance of the bracelet with traction and torsion is tested. The metal bracelet is attached to the case and closed during the test, with the tensile force set to 50N and the torsion torque to 50Ncm. The bracelet must withstand 10’000 stress cycles without breaking and the hold of the pins must be at least 15N.
The same test is done for leather strap, the tensile force is 40N with a torsion torque 40Ncm. The bracelet must withstand 10’000 stress cycles without break.
Here we test the holding of the colour on the leather bracelet. We apply a sponge on the top of the leather with 1Kg pressure and do 3 wrapping tests (10 / 50 and 150 times). This test is done with dry and humid sponge. The colour on the top of the leather must not transfer to the sponge.
Before the start of any large production run, a watchmaker assembles the final prototype, one component at a time, to ensure a top-quality product. Producing two million pieces a year, Tissot is the world’s number one Swiss traditional watchbrand in terms of volume – an outstanding achievement, given the choice of Swiss watches available and the tough demands placed by consumers.
